Disabling the touchpad

    Go to Control Panel and select Mouse

    If you have the Symantec Touchpad Driver installed you can click the tab Device Settings, select the Touchpad Device and click Disable.

    Or open up Device Manager (devmgmt.msc). Expand Mouse and Other Pointing Devices and see if you can disable only the Touchpad.

    I don't have my laptop to text any of this out unfortunately

    No she aint going to cooperate all I get is what is in the attachment.

    Well I found the driver for the synanptics touchpad and reinstalled it thinking it might refresh what is showing in control panel, and there it is with the enable / disable function so solved!:)
