To upgrade ram or not? HTPC with DDR3-1600 PC3-12800
Hey guys.
So I bought my computer 2 years ago and got 4gb of 12800.
I'm running win7 32-bit, so my understanding is that 4gb is the max. Is this correct?
Well, my computer was having frequent BSODs and I found the culprit to be faulty ram. (You guys helped, as I recall.)
I took out the bad ram and problem solved. ..but now with only 2gb of ram.
I totally lagged on getting the ram replaced via warranty, but now am getting off my ass.
I did a price check and the same ram is a mere $25 to replace the bad 2gb, but I was wondering if some newer/faster ram would do me better (it's been 2 years). Also, could I go over 4gb or am I mistaken?
My motherboard is a GIGABYTE GA-785GMT-USB3 and I've got a AMD Athlon II X4 630 Propus 2.8GHz
thanks!
