    LCD Dead or Stuck Pixel?

I just bought the new Sony Vaio Z series.

After 3 days it has a pixel issue:

On a white background, the pixel is red
On a lighter blue background, the pixel is black
On a green background, the pixel is black
On a red, dark blue or black background, the pixel seems normal (the right color and blends in with the rest as it should)

Is this a dead or stuck pixel?

    Stuck.

If it were dead, it would be black permanently.

Cheers pal, are there any methods which can actually fix it? Ive tried pushing a pen against a cloth into that pixel, and I tried using one of those programs which change the screen color at an insanely fast rate. None of them helped. Any ideas or should I wait for it to get better?

If between what you've tried and the the link provided by Cata, i've found they rarely - if ever, fix themselves

Some of these methods are just a bit crazy though lol, rubbing or tapping the screen sounds a bit ridiculous and could do some more serious damage to the screen. But I never realised you needed to keep those software options running for hours. I'll try keeping it on for like 3 hours tomorrow.

Check what warranty policy the manufacturer has. LG over here say if any pixel problem occurs within seven days it will be replaced. I'm sure others do the same. Get it seen to ASAP.

I agree. Take it back to the store.

    I agree too.
You paid good money for this and it's only 3 days old, even if you fix it how do you know you won't have a different pixel do the same in a weeks time.
