External HDD isn't being seen even after a restart?

    External HDD isn't being seen even after a restart?


    I plugged my external HDD into the USB port & the computer normally sees it right away, but this time it doesnt. I even just restarted the computer & it still isn't seeing it?

    What can I do so it sees it so I can run Second Copy to back up my files?

    Nevermind, I assigned it a letter & now it is showing up.

    It had a letter before, so I'm not sure why I had to re-assign it another drive letter.

    If you have been using more than one USB port, it's quite possible that Windows didn't load a driver and therefore couldn't allocate a drive letter.

    Anyway, it's good to hear that everything is OK now.
