Trying to decide on new Motherboard for replacement 1155.

Hey guys, new to the board although i been in the BSOD thread for awhile now trying to fix BSOD issues but ive come to the conclusion its my MB and here is my current MB also btw.

Newegg.com - ASUS P8P67 DELUXE (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Here is the 1 im looking at right now.

Newegg.com - ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Here is my system specs as of right now.

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz
    ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. P8P67 DELUXE
    BIOS Date: 02/05/10 19:13:52 Ver: 08.00.10
    Corsair Vengance 16gb 4x4
    WDC WD5000AAKX-001CA0 ATA Device
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Hopefully i posted right info that u need to help with the choice. Mainly i want the efi bios for simplicity for me and rig is mainly for gaming so want a stable MB i can OC pretty easly cuz my current 1 i cant seem to OC at all even though its supported, i never manually tried OC just the auto/turbo OC settings built in and it seems when those are on i get alot more crashes/BSOD. when off there very very rare.

Well ty in advance for any input on a good stable MB and if any more info is needed i will post back. As of right now i just got approved for a RMA on my MB and will be sending it back tomorrow or day after but while its being RMA i would like to go ahead and place order for another so i dont have to wait as long so again ty for any input.

I have the latter and I am liking it, it overclocks nicely and is stable. But what the Z68 has above the P67 is the integrated graphics and the Hybrid SSD Smart response technology. Do you think you would use either? Probably not. So I would base my decision on other features like the peripheral connections and the price.

The VRM power deliver system is a bit different. The P67 has 16 CPU phases, the Z68 has 12 CPU + 4 iGPU phases. I doubt it would make any difference unless you did an *extreme* overclock.

You can get that front panel USB box for the Z68 for $30 from Asus if that matters (the Z68 has one for the back panel).

The P67 has been around longer (it has 10 BIOS revisions - yikes!), and it doesn't even appear on the Asus USA listing of P67 boards. That might only mean they are not organized. Their BIOS notes indicate that they will support Ivy bridge on it.

Frankly, the UEFI interface doesn't do much for me. Sure it is nice to be able to use a mouse, but it is also easy to get around with the keyboard and you won;t really spend that much time in the BIOS (after playing around for a while )

BTW, the first Z68 I got had a motherboard issue with graphics interfering with sound. The second is great. I think, from any vendor and any model there can be problems - perhaps due to shipping and handling - I don't know (but just look at the newegg reviews). I got mine from Amazon, and if you get a faulty one, they will ship you a replacement and you don't have to return the item until sometime after you get the replacement. Since I had Amazon prime, I got the replacement in two days. So I would recommend this route with as Motherboard. The z68 pro is $199 there but the P67 deluxe is more than newegg.

Their management of their sites is pretty bad. Their ftp site is up and down for example.

Anyway didn't mean to come off for an add for Amazon, I would just check out return policies.

Yes, I think the Z68 in the link is what I have. Once I got the replacement, it is fine. I am running a 2500k @ 4.5 GHz in it.

You are correct though....the Deluxe version doesn't appear if for some reason you are directed to ASUS / United States, but it does appear under ASUS / Global. When I first looked, I was directed to ASUS / United States and didn't see it. I back peddled on my browser and selected ASUS / Global and it appeared.

Hm strange, was scared it meant they stop providing for the board for some reason lol but unlikely. And on the z68 the download stuff dont seem as cluttered and dis organized to dl, i honestly didnt know what to dl almost on the p67 cuz it just looked so disorganized but the z68 looks alot better, least for me cuz im new at building rigs but got a friend who helps me out, i almost went with the z68 too first but i was a sucker for seeing the Customer award thing and it lured me in to thinking it was better over all with the p67 >.> which im sure its good but i just aint having no luck with it.

There is 1 more question i got, i tried to livechat to find the answer on newegg but ya. When i go to send this MB back, i think i threw away some of the lil plastic wrap or w/e that the sata cables came in along with the lil pin connector thing for mb, is there a certain way i have to repack it, i mean i got the obvious like mb back in the big plastic which i did keep but like the lil things i just dont want them saying i did something wrong and not get a refund so just wanna get it right first time.
