I do have a same problem & gone through all conversation, just tell me 1 thing i have to boot with this "Free Download Magic Partition Manager Software - Partition Wizard Online (last entry on the webpage)" B4 or after shrink of c drive.
here a screenshot of disk management.
I'd boot from Partition Wizard before I shrunk the C drive. You can do the shrinking in Partition Wizard.

You MIGHT be able to shrink enough in Disk Management and maybe not. Partition Wizard offers more control.

U can shrink ur disk first with windows disk managment utility, and den use the unallocated space to create further partitions.
But if u want that ur unallocated space should b according to u nt windows den u can use partition wizard directly. :)
Follow those steps using partition wizard sftw:
1)convert ur whole partition to logical first
    2)shrink the amount u want.
3)then create further partitions from this unallocated space.
    :).
