LG DVD drive and windows 7 - wake up problems

We have an Asus v6-p7h55e, windows 7 prof 64bit which shows an annoying fault.
After going to sleep it will not totally wake up, but keeps hanging at the LG DVD drive.
The drive makes repeated sounds like it is in action (no dvd in it) and keeps on doing so, till I power of the pc (power button). After a restart it reaches the windows screen and then the screen goes black. After powering off again it will start without complaints.
According to the shop this is a known Windows problem.
Our other two computers (also desktops) very seldom show this behaviour.

Does someone know the cause and solution to this problem.

    Thanks.
    Stephan

Can you enter BIOS and have a look at the boot drive priorities please?

Thanks, that is how it should be. Try swapping the External Media and the DVD drive.

    1. DVD drive
    2. External media
    3. Harddrive

Also try making the Hard Drive first.

Thanks again for the speedy reply.
The pc is in use now. We usully do not allow it to go to sleep and do a full shut down when we take a longer break.
Will report back later (tomorrow) with the results of swapping the boot order.
