External Hard Drive not showing up anywhere

Hi everybody. I have a problem My 3TB Western Digital Hard Drive is not showing up on any PC I connect it to. The light on the drive itself is on, but no where on the PC does it register.

I am pretty sure the disks aren't spinning either, but that is probably because the computer isn't picking it up, and no vice-versa. Any help with this?

    Please fill in your specs.

Some motherboards require that you configure the BIOS to accept larger drives (2, 3Gb>).
If you're positive that the disks aren't spinning, then that's a red flag as to why the computer doesn't see the drive.

The drive used to work, but then it stopped working one day. Probably because I dropped it. I also unplugged it from the laptop without first ejecting, but I'm not sure how harmful that can be

edit: I just unplugged and plugged it in, and the disks were spinning but then they slowed to a stop.

How do I know if my motherboard is one of these ones?

I took it to an engineer, but he said its media was damaged, well, I am worried coz it contains a highly important data, Guyz please help both of us.
