What do you chaps think? How should I change this?

I do quite like the look of the phantek cooler. It is slightly more but it is a brilliant cooler and you cam put three fans on it! Slight change of plan though! I decided that I can't break up with my Great Grandfather's desk so won't be building a new one, at least not yet! Therefore, I am not going to need the touchscreen, I am going to save some money here! I will still need one display adapter though, does anyone know where to get one? So, what I am going to do is keep the three monitors, if I can't fit the 24" I can easily drop to the 22". I am sure I won't die! I will then have to make a separate case for the main hardware. Now, do you think it would be possible to make one out of wood? And if I decided to use acrylic, wouldn't grounding the case remove all static?

Traditionally, nVidia graphics cards only supported 2 monitors. Exceptions were cards with dual GPUs (graphics processor units), which were essentially two cards that mounted in a single slot. The new GTX 680 cards support 4 monitors, but they're new, expensive (> £400), and scarce. AMD (ATI) have their "Eyefinity" feature: some cards support 6 monitors. I believe that the third cards and up must use Display Port (or Display Port adapters).

As regards the case, acrylic and wood are insulators, so I don't know how you'd "ground the case". There are commercial acrylic cases, so either there's a way, or it doesn't matter much. Unless you're quite handy, it may be less labor intensive to buy a case. The Lan Li Lancool (steel) cases look like a good compromise between price and quality. (I don't own one.)

Thank you for replying. Yes, I am in the uk. Hardware is very expensive here ! As for the graphics cards. You are correct about nVidia but for amd and their eyefinity, the 7850 supports four monitors. On the backplate of the card is a dvi, hdmi and two mini display ports I think. Therefore, you have to get an adapter to use the mini display ports. I think anyway! As for the case, does it need grounding? I just want something different that I can build myself! I just don't see why you need to ground the acrylic or wood other than for static. Have a look at the link that was posted earlier about the acrylinc cases, I think it was the fourth or fifth post in this thread! Thank you very much for your help though!

Have just looked at that link, it looked perfect! Both the phantek and the noctua are the same price! I do prefer the colour of the phantek but I really don't know what to get! I think the phantek does cool slightly better but we are talking about 1 degree so it isn't a problem. I will research it but thank you for finding that link!

Any advice on the parts listed at the end of my previous post?

Thanks for replying, The noctua apparently comes with thermal paste so I think I will just use that. For the fan on the cooler, do I get the 120mm or the 140mm one? I know the cooler comes with one of each, was just wondering which one I should get! As for the RAM, I need something that won't get in the way of the cooler, would this hamper the cooler?
