i have been reading the difference between 1155 and 1366 and 2011, is 1155 really getting that outdated? doesnt seem like it to me, but what do i know. if so, id happily look into a 3820 or somthing

just did some research, im not getting off easy on this one...

2600k still looks like my best option.

i looked at other cpus, mainly the 2011 sockets, and benchmarks, and reviews are saying its more for memory intensive applications and will not help much in gaming... although i am a 3d developer and it is important to have good caching time, i have a render farm to do that for me.

so now onto mobos, if i do go with 2600k... is there a better mobo than this...

i like the board... i REALLY like the price. im not fond of a restriction to 32gb of ram, no pcie3, but i do like the matte black instead of that dingy brownish black, i like the layout, and the flatter FSB sink... ill keep looking for boards, if anyone can think of a board that might have more of what im looking for but around the same price, id apreciate it...
and yes i know im kindof straying of topic, it raised more questions lol

i worrie bout the lack of heat sinks and size of heat sinks though on this one, but that might just be me a little paranoid i guess

i was amazed asrock extreme 3 had a better score than the extreme 4 or extreme 6...
i was looking at some assus boards, 4 stars, only 10pct ISH (rounding UP) 1 and 2 pct and about 60-70pc 4 and 5 star reviews. i just dont care for the color, despite how superficial that is.

yes, color is a factor, which greatly limmits my options for a good board, i want black... plain and simple, i do not like the red mix if possible, limmited even more... if there has to be a secondary color i would wat green or silver, maybe gold but thats pushing it a little.

im alright with thes e blue and dark brown boards, kinda... i dont like the nastyness of the brown, which is one reason why i like Gigabyte, for their dark colored boards

thank you very much for the information, i like the board allot, im not a fan of micro atx due to the overlapping pciex1 and pciex16s, but i will keep it in mind, cinsiddering i am trying to shy away from M.ATX boards, is there a specific asus board close to 170usd by them that is still prey good?

also not to leave gigabyte behind, would it be better than the p8z68?

im seeing so much information leaning toward the asus, and so much information stating that gigabyte would be the better choice, im just not a fan of the blue on the asus, and im not a fan of not having any pcie 3.0 on the gigabyte.

although if i understand correctly, pcie 3.0 is "far from perfected and is not a huge step up." is this correct?
