What were the results of the diagnostic test? Did the drive get a clean bill of health after running the full diagnostic?

If yes, then that makes me wonder about the Windows 7 installation disk. Is it a retail disk, or one that you burned? Could be a bad download or a bad burn.

The test was fine. The disc is fine I used it on other 120/250 & 320 hdd to check if I was missing something with the larger 750 hdd. Which is leading me back to the bios change. But I cannot find the update anywhere. Thanks again for the help.

It shows in diagnostics test as the full 698gb/750gb, also in disk management where I have assigned it a letter so I can now see it from my computer. But still shows 7.9gb from the installation disk.
