Please Help Me Slow Down My Computer
Lately my laptop appears to have become over-sensitive and reactive to my slightest move, particularly when I most need it not to.
My system is an HP G62 Notebook PC (G62-225NR), Pentium Dual-Core CPU (T4500) running at 2.30 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 64-bit Windows 7 OS.
My complaints are:
Single mouse clicks become double, triple, or even quadruple clicks.
I have tried going into Control Panel > Mouse > Double Click Speed and repeatedly changed the slider from fastest to slowest and vice versa without satisfaction.
One must click on a check box many, many times before my on or off choice will finally stick.
When trying to simply move a window by dragging it to a new location the window will suddenly jump up to take up the entire screen, even when I don't want it to.
And, when I make a selection of text using my mouse (as in preparation to move, copy, or cut it) the selection immediately goes away the instant I raise my finger off the left button and is lost. It is NOT copied to the clipboard. In order get get a selection of text to be copied to the clipboard I must hold down an arrow key with one finger while holding down a shift key to make the selection again.
These problems are driving me nuts. What can I do to better bring my computer under control?
