    Sony Bluetooth KBD Connection help

I bought an i& desktop with BT keyboard & mouse. I've recently begun to lose connectivity with the keyboard.

I also upgraded to a Samsung SSD and I mention that as it is the reason I removed a lot of bloatware. Long story short, I call Sony and they cant help naturally except to send a new keyboard. The instrucitons tell me to use a file on C named wconnect.exe to enable pairing of the new keyboard.

And it's one of the files I cleaned out and Sony cant help except to tell me to do a factory restore to get it. I dont have the three days it would take.

Can anyone make any suggestions that would help ? Thanks.

That right there would be reason enough for me to never buy another product from them again.
Using a ridiculous proprietary connection system without allowing the software to be downloaded separately.

On that note does it work at all?
Have you tried changing your power options to always on? (may help keep connection alive)

Yes, it works 99% of the time. Being new to SSD's, I'm using "balanced 10/45" On occasion I might lose connectivity and or get a delayed character. Not huge, but they felt runnning the program again might assist in a fix as well as replacing the keyboard.

In looking at some posts on their website for the keyboard it seems to be common to the keyboard itself.

Never the less, I was hoping to find a kind soul who could spare me the dyas of reinstalling software.

You know I had some problems with the reliability on my old kb. I moved my router and changed the channel on it, I also made sure my smartphone's bluetooth was off when in the house. Also keep the phone AWAY from the kb, preferably 3 feet or so.
That seemed to stop the vast majority of the problem.
People forget how much of their stuff is sending out wireless signals these days. The kb signal is a low power weak signal.. so it can easily be interrupted by other local sources.

Happy to report I was able to get a hold of someone at Sony with some clout (not the people you get through the 800 #) (These people are in NJ) who in turn emailed the product specalist who sent me the zip file.

Worked like a charm. Interestingly enough it is written by Logitech so I'm going to presume they make the keyboard & mouse.
