    NUL: port disappears on restart

Just got Win 7 64 bit computer and have several programs that use Amyuni PDF converter (Quicken & Alpha Software), everything installed correctly (I did have to manualy add NUL: port) and I was able to create PDF's .... until I restarted the computer, then none of the programs would create PDF's, I looked at the ports and the NUL: port was gone, I added again and everything worked, I restarted again and the NUL: port was gone again. I have looked at every thredd on this forum I could find and many threads on Quicken forums and Alpha Software Forums and found many others with same problem, and tried every solution they proposed, but have not found anything that works. My temporary solution is to select FILE as the port and enter the pdf file and path every time I want to create a PDF, but this is not a very satisfactory solution.

    NUL: port disappears on restart

After more testing I found that it is the print spooler that is removing the NUL: port, if I stop and start the spooler the port is gone. when the port is first added the following are added to the registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Ports NUL: REG_SZ (no data)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Ports NUL: REG_SZ (no data)
and all of the ports in those keys are displayed in Devices and Printers->Print Server properties->ports, after restarting the spooler the NUL: port no longer shows up in the property->ports list, but it is still in the above keys. So if the port is still in the only registry key created when it was added, why does it not show up in the list ? I tried this on another windows 7 computer, and the port does not disappear, the only difference between the computers is the first is Professional, the second is Home Premium
