So... let's see if we understand the problem...

You're installing Win7, and everything works fine up until the point you need to enter the product key. You can't enter it, 'cause Win7 won't recognize your keyboard so you can't input the key. You have a Dell system, with no PS/2 ports. The conventional wisdom here is that you need a different driver than the ones that came with the Win7 RC to recognize your USB keyboard, but you can't get the different driver 'cause you can't finish the install or use the keyboard.

    Is that the correct summary?

Hmmm... this is definitely a quandary.

This is just a blue-sky suggestion... how about using something like Puppy Linux or Damn Small Linux? Could he use one of them to go get the proper driver, stick the driver in the proper folder in the almost-installed Win 7, and then go from there?

I've found a disk with all my origonal drivers that came with the Dell.
How do I install them without the ability to use the computer outside of that big black "Windows didn't turn off right" screen?

I'm not saying you didn't help. I'm going to REP everyone becaause I know it'll make you happy somehow that you think you've helped, but GIVING you this "Rep" will probably make you feel worse that you didn't deserve it.
    Thank you.
