    Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz

So I might be getting a older computer for free from my school. It has 3GBs of ram and Windows 7 32bit. I was wondering would it be better to run Vista Home Premium or XP Pro or just stick with Windows 7.

    W7, no doubt.

    I have a P4 Northwood 3.0GHz & 2GB RAM running W7 32 bit here right now. Not a problem running the OS.

Run windows 7 or win xp um Vista I wouldn't recommend it since it's more power hungry and windows 7 is the Superior version of vista.Ethier WIN 7 or XP would be good just go with what you like. Maybe Windows 7 because xp support is getting dropped so no more updates in the future.

I would only recommend XP if you need support for older programs. You may just want to dual boot windwos 7 and Windows XP as shown in this tutorial: Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP
