Seagate and the click of death
Hi guys got a Seagate ST31000333AS with a firmware version CC1H and a date code 09381. Looks like seagate really likes there program SeaTools and based on there site information about a warranty, they would like me to use it before proceeding any further with replacing this item. So far there have been no reports from this retarded Seatools, but just try running it for an hour or so. It will wake you up in the middle of the night going CLICK TICK CLICK TICK ricktickclicktick and then die. you cant even touch it at that point as its like twice as hot as a cup of freshly mad coffee So my question is does anyone have any experience with replacing hard drives with Seagate? am i going to have a hard time with these guys? I have never had a Seagate go bad before warranty is up before so I'm just looking for advices. Thanks
