Make sure that you removed the battery placed the cmos jumper to the reset position, hold down the power button, and have absolutly no power running to the motherboard.

The only other thing i can think of before assuming something like the power supply, cpu, ram or motherboard is shot, is to remove the cpu and put it back in again. but you would need liquid silver for that. they got that stuff at radio shack as do they have batteries as well.

http://www.manualowl.com/m/Gigabyte/.../Manual/208050

page 25 tells you how to change the battery

page 31 tells you where the jumper is and how to do it

page 87 tells you what the beeps mean. it is the bios and may be corrupt in witch it is not worth fixing. you would just have to replace the board.

for everyone else, this is what this thing looks like

a jumper looks like this

if you don't have one, you might have one on the back of your hard drive and/or dvd drive you can borrow.

sure nothing hurts at this point.

I was under the assumption that you had 9 short beeps which is a bios issue. but if you have another thought, the more the merrier.

P.S. i would put the ram back in. refer to the instructions on which slots to insert them in if you don't have a full four sticks.
