lack of mouse sensitivity in explorer

right clicking on files in explorer half the times registers as a double click and windows thinks I want to rename the file and not open it. I've adjusted the sensitivity under ctrl-options /mice and also on my logitech app, but still no luck. The lack of sensitivity seems to be in explorer only, does anyone have a tip or two? thanks

Do you mean, that when you right click on a file it begins editing the name?

A double click should open, a right click should bring up a menu, a double right click will just right click twice and serves no purpose. If you single left click on the text that goes with a file or folder it will open the text box for editing. Is this what's happening?

    Logitech Mx518 in Win7 ultimate

connected straight to laptop and not a hub. I thought it might just be old but explorer is the only area it lacks sensitivity

left clicking on say an MP3 half the time will have the same effect as F2 (rename) , the other half of time it will play the file like it should in my default mp3 program.

Are there any keys on your keyboard that might be stuck down? Are your keyboard and mouse daisy chained, or hooked up on a USB hub?

Do you have a macro program? I know I once my computer was clicking of its own accord, it was really strange until I realized my logitech g15 keyboard was clicking for me with a repeating macro I had set up. I didn't even realize it was running.

I guess you are using Logitech's Setpoint application and drivers? If so, try this.

Fixed it. In my haste I didn't realize it was staring at my right in the face (double click settings) in ctrl panel/ mice. I've been used to settings totally in setpoint software. :/

    thanks for the replies.
