    Modem Driver Installation Problem

I've bought a Laptop recently, before this I used desktop.

I've bought a Internet Modem(Zoom Ultra) for my Laptop. But I can't install it. after connecting the modem to the USB the installation begins easily but after the completion of the Installation whenever I try to open the application it shows a Dialogue box saying :

    "Installer.exe has stopped working".

Both my Desktop and Laptop is in Windows 7

    Desktop : Windows 7 Ultimate x64
    Laptop : Windows 7 Home Basic x86

Note : The modem runs well at my desktop

This is a basic troubleshooting guideline to determine why there is no internet connection. Pay special attention to step 3, determining what IP address is being communicated from the modem to the laptop. You could also compare the IP address being used by the desktop since that machine is working OK.

From what I could find out, your ISP is Citycell, is that correct? And you are using a Zoom Ultra modem. According to the Citycell website, there are four different modems available: Harvilon ED 269; Huawei EC 122; Huawei Ec 167; and a ZTE AC682. Which modem do you have? You can probably get an online user manual.

Finally, you could probably contact Citycell Customer Care through their telephone help line, a walk in help center, or by email.

I've sent message to them. But they said its my Laptop's Problem.

I've connected a Broadband Cable line on my Laptop temporarily, its working well,

After installing the Modem's Software. I tried to ran it, it says :

"Device not detected". But I've connected the Device successfully to USB and I've also noticed the device connected to PC successfully.

Since the broadband cable is working well, is it possible that whatever other cable you were using is bad?
