I've not received any info on them from owners, but from looking on their website at their SSD, I saw everything I needed to see............Sandforce.
That seems excessive.
I've had good luck with a couple of drives with Sandforce controllers (OCZ Vertex 3, Corsair Force GT). I admit that I've always installed the most recent firmware that I could get.
I see that Intel uses them in their 330 and 520 series drives.
YMMV.
Yes, Intel uses the Sandforce 2281 controller, which they spent over a year tweaking, in the 520 series. I had 2 go bad within a day on my recent PC build before I went with Samsung. Excessive? Probably. Fool me once, fool me twice......
As long as there are people making high quality drives at a good price without using Sandforce controllers, that is where I will spend my money.
Also, LSI has since obtained the Sandforce company, and if anybody can get the bugs worked out, it's them.
