In order to have at least a shot at helping you out we need to know what hardware you are using? Is this a external drive? Or do you have a device that is SATA to USB? Basically you hook up a hard drive and connect via USB? It looks like this http://www.cooldrives.com/lib/cooldr...ws-and-mac.jpg

Please take pictures with good lighting so we can assist you.

so you have an IDE to USB adapter, does the HDD show up on your computer when plug in?
DO you hear it spinning? power on?

Can you plug this HDD into a different computer without the USB/IDE adapter?

You may need to run a chkdsk c: /r from a command prompt.

So all the other files work just fine? Only this one file that you can't open? can you take a screenshot of this file, and of the file properties by doing a right click on it and clicking on properties.
