Windows 7: SSD Comparing 3 m4's

Windows 7 x64 Ultimate

It may also come without a warranty.

OEM drives typically only have a 30 day exchange for replacement, after that the OEM itself is supposed to warranty the drive to the customer.

With drives and CPUs, the consumer kit may come with screws and coolers and brackets but it also generally comes with a multi year warranty to and that's /really/ what the cost difference is paying for.

Of course like most things, if you bought 10 drives with warranty you would end up paying for two complete extra drives with with VERY much less than a 20% chance of a failure. So in the end it's never worth it. But if the drive does die, your SOL, toss it and buy another.
