Improving airflow? More fans=higher temps

Short answer, yes. If those are the max temps when under sustained load both mine and Surgikil's temps are within spec. Especially the CPU temps.

For me the more important criteria is the noise level. Since I have a new fan controller to tinker with I am trying to maximize cooling while minimizing noise. If the MSI TF III GTX 570 fans hit ~>65% speed they become LOUD. As in REALLY loud.

Currently I can OC it to 870 core clock and stay under that temp/noise threshold during normal gameplay. Once I OC it to 880 core clock or higher it sounds like a jet engine (exaggerating a bit ). Personally I like to keep the temps <= 70C. But that is just a pesonal thing.

P.S. On a side note, what were the engineers thinking when they designed some SLI MOBOs and put the GPU PCI-EX slots adjacent to each other? Hmmm..... am I missing something? Air flow is obviously restricted....
