    MotherBoard Burned out

I'm posting here to see what Board should i go and get i am pissed as hell right now my board burned in the back but other components seem ok unharmed I gave MSI a RMA but the cheeky jerks said they had nothing on my product no even seriel number which i find hard to belive

Since the RMA is a joke i contacted the place i bought it from Im hoping they will give me something to help me along because right now MSI is on my hit list

I checked the ram cpu video cards etc nothing seems to be damaged or scorched by any heat marks so i am hoping it is just the board It was a compacitor to the OC genie but i never used it so any thoughts ?

would you think it's safe to say the board didn't take anything with it by the way my nephew was playing resident evil ORC and that is when it went down

I know the feeling, Tommy. I had an MSI paperweight too. I'm not sure what to tell you to get, but I wouldn't get an MSI board and wouldn't play Resident Evil on whatever I did get. Boards are hard lately. I had to order 4 boards before I got one that works. I feel lucky to have this one. If it were me, I would look at places like Newegg and read the user reviews and pick one that gets the highest reviews. Even if you don't buy from Newegg, it is a great place to do your research. I really don't know anyone who has good customer service except EVGA, and I don't know about their boards. If it didn't take anything with it, you were quite lucky. Sorry about the bad luck.

For me, I only buy Asus, Gigabyte or Intel. Intel boards are my preference for stability when overclocking is not strongly desired.

It took my 3 Asus boards to get one good one. I bought it through my local Intel Dealer and had no problem with RMA.

Well since my last post I happen to get informanton on where the RMA building is for MSI guess what I took it there So i am expected to get a call to pick up a new board hopefully tomorrow

They can't deny me as i had the paperwork and handed it to one of the service men at the MSI building so there screwed because my board supposedly had a 10 year plus capacitor life and it failed so now I will be expecting my new board soon

I just pray when i install it that i didnt toast anything besides the board im going to swap video cards in a while from the 5770 to a 6870 in this rig for a while im going to use the Twin Frozr though

That's great news. Maybe it didn't take anything else with it. That would be like adding insult to injury. Good job.

That's my thinking since i have the AX 850 i think it shut everything when it blew so it saved some parts my nephew said he felt a flash of heat when it happened

But looking at the Cpu looks like i just took it out the box the ram was good the only thing that was sick hot was the Radiator cause it was right next to the breaking point but seems to be in tact the lines are still good no leaking

Wow Tommy that's a drag but I have to tell you that I've had nothing but great dealings with MSI and have several names there to contact. Let me know if I can help in anyway!
