Can I upgrade my laptop to USB 3?

I have a Dell Inspiron which has USB 2, would it be possible to upgrade it to USB 3?

Yes, by using a USB 3.0 Expansion card if your laptop has an ExpressCard slot built in.

Here are some examples of the products in that classification:-

    Belkin SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ExpressCard™ F4U024

    Review Iomega USB 3.0 ExpressCard /34 - Notebookcheck.net Reviews

You didn't mention exactly what Dell Inspiron Model you have so I cannot make any educated assumptions on whether your Laptop can or cannot support such expansion cards.

After a quick check, it seems like the Dell Inspiron 15R does not have a PC Card slot that supports ExpressCards..

Sorry to be bearer of bad news.
