    Is this a good laptop?

I plan on playing some games such as Battlefield 3, GTA IV / V and Minecraft.
    Here are the specs.

Its a Dell Inspiron 15R Special Edition model.
    $899

Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge Processor (Base 2.1 Ghz -> Turbo 3.1 Ghz)
*Is this processor able to be overclocked?

    8GB DDR3 RAM

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

    Radeon™ HD 7730M 2GB -> Dedicated

    15.6" 1080p Glossy display

    750GB SATA HDD at 7200RPM

Found : The Dell Online Store: Build Your System

It is listed at $999 but I have a deal for $100 off.

Tell me what you think :)

Especially the "Retina" model, which starts at $2200.

    More seriously:

I'm not familiar with current notebook graphics. If you're serious about gaming, and wish to buy from Dell, maybe you should look at the Alienware laptops. They're more expensive than the Inspiron, but some come with the NVidia 650m graphics controller. (Same as the MacBooks, including the Retina models.)

You should do a search of some gaming forums to see if there are any reviews for that laptop and/or the GPU used. The processor obviously can handle just about anything, but I don't know if that particular Radeon GPU is good for light, medium, or heavy gaming.

This Dell laptop is fairly new and therefore there is a lack of reviews around. I did however searched on some benchmark scores where you can input your computers specs and compare them to a game. Battlefield can supposedly run on medium or high with little to no issues. Grand Theft Auto IV and Minecraft can run on high settings without a problem. And regarding the comment about Alienware, they're too expensive. My main use for the computer would be medium to low demanding games such as the Grand Theft Auto series and Minecraft, with the rare demanding game like Battlefield. Therefore I am not willing to pay for an Alienware because of the fact that I am not that hard-core of a gamer, who just wants a well priced machine with pretty good specs.

    1) I am looking for a laptop.
    2) Anything Apple by that means is already way more expensive at its base price.

And to be honest the GFX in Macs are not that great for the price.

Please stop trolling. The OP is not interested in using a Mac for gaming or for anything else.
