You would think the manual would say something about that, no?
I would hope so? The manuals for my ASUS boards do.

You should have your pc connected to a surge protector. Shut it off when your done with the pc.

If you still have the same motherboard,

Acer Support: Welcome to Acer Support

Click the link, or paste it into your search box & find your PC. Look for the Manual and download it, that will tell you how to get into the BIOS.

Bertison, it's a Gigabyte motherboard, not an Asus, and the direct link to the manual has already been posted earlier in the thread (by myself). There is nothing in there related to this issue of the powering of USB devices when off. Perhaps it could be in some other manual/sheet that came with it but is not internet accessible.

There are "Power On By Mouse" and "Power On By Keyboard" options in the Power Management Setup section of the BIOS menu. You could try setting them to Disabled if they aren't already. I didn't see any mention of jumpers for the USB power so if this doesn't work you may be SOL.

...which is why I stated that the device manage interface would not help - but I should have suggested that the OP check anyway. Doh!

They are disabled by default. Any other ways?
