    Kodak printer always needs both ink cartridge


    Hi i have a kodak esp.c310 and i get this problem when ever 1 ink cartridge is out i cant print anything even if the black and white one is full and i want to print in just black and white it wont let me is there anyway to get past this?

    replace the color one and keep the black one,( there is no white )
    i have a kodak printer and the color usually runs out before the black ink,

    Ok but is there a way to change the settings so it can print even if 1 ink cartridge is out?

    no, you need both cartridges in the printer , and if one is empty it wont continue, clever bit of forced marketing,

    I have two Kodak printer and they must have both cartridges installed and have ink in them. Going back in my memory I think HP does the same thing.

    Confirmed. My old 632C and 1210 need ink in all cartridges to continue printing.

    So did my old Canon and my present Epson.

    Every printer I have used, and I've used a lot, have required all carts to have some ink to print.
    Even the color lasers I've used stop printing if one cart goes out.
