ink cartridges are sending me to poor house !!!

I am using a HP Photosmart D110 all-in-one.
It requires one black/white cartridge and one tri-color cartridge. Total cost about $65 Canadian.
They don't last long, especially the color cartridge.

Is there a printer which will not break my bank account ?
I don`t mind paying more for the printer. It's only an one time expense.
Buying ink cartridges regularly has become an expensive adventure.

Any recommendations ?

Depends on how often you use your printer and for what purpose. If you do a lot of color photos any ink jet printer will make you poor. If you don't use the printer a lot, the cartridges will dry up and make you poor. I switched to a refurbished laser color printer about two years ago. Cost under $100. B&W toner about $50, color about $65. Toner yield is supposed to be about 2,500 pages. Still on the same two toner cartridges and still getting excellent quality copies. Toner doesn't dry up and seems to last forever.

Laser color printer.
I'll check out the prices in my location.

Thank you.

P.S. I still can't give you rep. The rep box told me to "spread" the Reputation around before I can give you any.

When I had an HP printer, I had to buy cartridges every six to eight months.
When I switched to an Epson, now my cartridges last just over a year, and they're cheaper!

I've usually gone with Epson printers and used compatible cartridges, works out a lot cheaper. Each colour is a separate cartridge so when one runs out you just replaced that one not the whole lot.

This is on the all in one ink jet printers, we used to have laser printers but the cost of replacement was too much for us so we went with ink jet and we're happy.

Be careful picking a laser printer, there are cheap ones around these days with toner cartridges that have very low page yields.

Printer forum for resetting Canon/Epson cartridges & ink refilling?
Hi, Does anyone know the name of the 'printer' forum, specific to Canon and Epson as I recall, that deals a lot with resetting cartridge chips and manually refilling the cartridges? I used it a few years ago, but can't for the life of me remember its name. I don't want to break any rules...

Poor computer conditions = poor gaming performance?

Recycled Ink Cartridges
Another printer problem: I have an HP Deskjet 4480 with recycled ink cartridges in which I never had problems printing from XP. When I bought another computer that had W7 and hooked up the same HP, it printed fine. However, I just replaced the old cartridges with new (recycled) ink cartridges,...

Any new printers that use 2 ink cartridges?
Looking for a new printer. I am seeking a simple basic printer. That uses only 2 ink cartridges - BW and Color. I used to use all Epson. But now all I see are 4 ink cartridges and printing stops when one ink cartridge is empty. Any simple printers out there. Inkjet. All-in-One....
