Turning a Old Laptop Monitor into a Small tv/Dvd Player

Hello
I have a 15"4 monitor from an old laptop, which i would like to turn into a small LCD tv and/or a DVD Player Anyone here knows a good guide for it? This is my first project of this kind, so i don't know where to start.

- Sergio

Hi Sergio,

Interesting project, not seen anything in print , but as for ideas and parts you may want to check out some of the custom car parts suppliers - I've seen a few custom builds using laptop screens for video output

You might like this one better. Turn an Old Laptop into a Wall-Mounted Computer - Laptops - Lifehacker

Since you only have the screen, you may be able to improvise on this particular method to make yourself a very small computer in the same way that can ebe used for watching movies and such.

Crashing After Turning off Monitor
Using Win 7 Pro 64bit. Every time I turn off the monitor I either see a blank screen, or the taskbar is gone or the PC is in terminal sleep (can't be awakened). I usually have to reboot. If I leave the monitor on, these things don't happen. Any hints as to why this might occur? Thanks. PRS
