Fresh Install Win 7 Enterprise- 1 part of partition access denied

    Hello Again

As the subject suggests, I have had to re install Windows 7 Enterprise and it seems to have lost part of the partitioned drive. As per the picture the PS3 drice and Panthro drives are part of an internal hard drive, when I click on it I get the error message?

Would be very grateful if someone would spare the time to help me.

    Thanks

Are you using Enterprise for a particular reason? You could try scf /scannow and see if it will repair corrupted files.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

But as bassfisher said, why Enterprise? And your specs say Ultimate.

I did have Ultimate but we changed PC's in work and now have Enterprise, not sure of the reason.

I am just running that now, so will report back - Thanks for the super fast response.

PS. It is my work PC, but the internal (additional) hard drive is mine :)

There couls be a number of reasons for that.

One is the drive may be in use by another process, e.g. checkdisk.

I assume you have tried rebooting to see if that helps?

Yes, reboot runs the checkdisk every time, but it fails, is there a way of getting the error message to show you?

I have run the test with the following outcome:

Strangely I have restarted after running the partition wizard unsuccessfully and it seems to have brought them both back, working.

Thanks for your help anyway guys.

Sounds like chkdsk getting stuck - whatever Partition Wizard did - seems to have stopped it.

That might indicate a problem with the drive.

Best run drive manufacturer utility ( available from their site, e.g. seatools for dos ) just to check
