Synaptics Touchpad Scroll Deleted from registry accidently.

I was recently deleting items I didn't want running from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Since I done this, Scroll on my Synaptics Touchpad does not work on startup unless I go into control panel, click mouse and then it just comes alive. I know it's not the end of the world but its annoying doing this every time I turn my laptop on.
On researching this problem iv'e since discovered msconfig and now realise this is a much easier and less destructive way to turn things off that I don't want running. On this point, there is nothing in msconfig startup for Synaptics for me to enable/disable.
Please help. Iv'e seen a thread on here very similar to this from 2 years ago but after 5 pages it was never solved.
    Please someone help.
    Thanks
    Gary

Go to your laptops support/driver download page and reinstall touch pad driver, that should fix it for you.

Thanks for the reply. Iv'e tried that and it's still the same. The driver is upto date.
The scroll still will not work once the laptop is switched off and on again.
    Thanks

    gary,

    First you get a scolding.

Do NOT ever mess with the registry.
Do NOT ever mess with the registry.
Do NOT ever mess with the registry.

With that out ouf the way:
CTRL+ESC key combo | in the search box, type DEVMGMT.MSC | ENTER

Here's a capture to show you where you need to go to uninstall the driver.

    SHUTDOWN your computer.

    POWERUP your computer.

Win 7 will find a driver for you probably.

If not, then you can download the driver from your comuter mfg website.

    Gary,
We can better assist you if you use this procedure to fill in your System Specs:

    Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec
    (left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info

In the System Manufacturer Block, enter:
    Manufacturer and Model and
ADD the word laptop, desktop, netbook or tablet.
    For example:
    Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
    MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

You will find that in Speccy, you can select info from the display
using your mouse/touchpad and then paste that info into your specs.

SIW is a marvelous program, but the free version does not offer
    this capability.

I want to permanentally and completely uninstall the touchpad driver on HP laptop. It is synap. It is so frustrating to have to go into the mouse controls to disable it everytime I start-up or let the laptop go to standby. Please email if you can with an answer....I need it asap... taxea@hawaii.rr.com
