Jamerson, Your laptop has the trace option turned on in the bios. Check that out on your Dell laptop..

I see on the dell page that it has
Remote Data Deletion can remotely delete data if your system goes missing due to loss or theft.

Which most likely is the feature that your trying to turn off. I recommend that you call dell with your
serial number to make sure that the laptop is ok and someone along the line had it illegaly. They should
be able to help you disable that feature or at least register it in your name.

Jamerson, That's about it for a solution as the main reason for the remote option is to prevent removing it when your laptop is stolen. The person who took it can't remove the program without Dell being involved. Making it worthless for the thief. Give dell a call with your serial number and register it in your name. If the laptop was not stolen along the way to your possession, you don't have anything to worry about.
