    HP 8500 909g Printer

    I'm running Vista 64 bit Windows 7.

    My new HP 8500 909g Printer software cd or the HP download software will not fully install for me. System check reports my OS is not compatible.

    I have talked with HP support with no luck. Is anyone aware of a patch or work around. With viewing fourms at HP it appears to be a problem with this printer and Window 7.

    Thanks

    John

    Hi John, welcome to the forums.

    Have you tried running the main installer in compatability mode for XP/Vista?

    Right-Click the file -> Properties -> Compatability

    Hope this helps :)

    Orbitals correct - sometimes the installer, also needs to be run as an administrator :

    To install a driver OR program in compatibility mode - right click the setup.exe file - click properties - click compatibility - check run in compatibility with vista/xp etc - check run as administrator - leave the rest blank. Start setup.exe and install.

    Hello guys!

    Here im putting some useful information,The 8500 can print on both sides of a sheet of paper, direct from the feeder tray. It prints on one side, waits a few seconds for the ink to dry, then it feeds the sheet back into the printer and prints on the reverse side. The alignment of the print has been perfect every time and the end result very impressive. I have seen this feature on more expensive laser printers, but not as sophisticated on inkjet printers or laser printers in this price range. This is a great way to reduce your paper costs and is obviously kinder to the environment too.

Geek squad did not reslove the problem and now I have a great HP that does not fax and do other All-in-One functions. I am also wireless but I would forgo wireless and use a USB connection if I could get the drivers to install. HELP!

    HP 8500 909g Printer Driver Problems

    Yes, I tried that to no avail....can you think of anything else.......I am so frustrated! My Acer is new, the company went of business in January and I have uninstall drivers and reinstalled several times. Drivers worked fine on my Dell XPS with Vista OS. Dell kept crashing so I had to buy new PC...Any more ideas???

    DeltaToni, did you use HPs' install wizzard for win7 ? Software & Driver Downloads HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-in-One Printer - A909g - HP technical support (United Kingdom - English) also when installing the drivers do not connect the printer until you are told to do so which on certain models can cause problems will have another search for you
