On most cases, the drives are mounted low and there would be space in front of the drive cage for a fan.

Note the clear colored fan at the front of the case (bottom right)

    Thanks Zepher for sticking around.

The PSU on my pc is downwards above them are the spaces for the HDD and DVDR.
I would've uploaded a pic but can't do that now

How close to the psu is the hard drive? And is it directly above the psu?
The heat from the psu may be making the hard drive run warmer.

I didn't want to upload a picture because the photo quality sucks but here it is anyway.

1 is where the DVDR is
2 is where the HDD is
3 is where the fan is located, the fan is facing downwards I can see it beneath

Sorry about the bad picture quality of my not so attractive computer

can the drive be moved down one slot? or the DVD drive moved up?
can you take a pic of the case from the side with the cover off like above as well as a shot showing the front of the case.

Well yes the drive can be moved one slot down. It used to be there before (the hard disk I had earlier) and I changed that because it used to stick to the wires of the PSU. and ummmmmmm I don't wanna upload any pics, you can see whats going on with the one picture I uploaded already

Glad I could help out Yussi!

In reality you were never in any danger, a spinner drive is OK till 50C or 122F. As Zephyr Rob mentioned, the temp sensors aren't real accurate.
