Quick Removal seems to be the default setting in my Windows 7, and in fact is (probably) the reason the Safely Remove option does not work. It is a pity the Windows 7 message doesn't tell you that. But as I understand from the article above Quick Removal is not perfect as you have to be sure the USB disk is not active or has open files before you yank it. So you have to be sure. MOST of the time I am sure. I think.![]()
