    BlueTooth Mouse Annyance

I recently connected at Targus Notbook mouse to Windows 7 with out too much difficulty. However, what happens now is that everytime the mouse is in active for 5-10 seconds and I touch it, W7 makes the Device Disconnect\Connect sound. OVER and OVER again. This is probably because the mouse goes into power saving mode. I tried tunring off the Bluetooth setting which states "Alert me when a new device wants to connect" but this did not help. I turned off the sound for connecting and disconnecting devices in Windows, but this is not really the answer because now sound is off for all devices I plug in and out. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Change the mouse properties/hardware/power to never turn off mouse?

I don't have a bluetooth device, but perhaps there is a similar setting.

What is the model number of the mouse? And is your Bluetooth adapter an internal or external device?

Thanks guys. I was able to resolve the issue after reading your posts. The mouse did not have power settings as Antman suggested. However, when I sent to the Device Manager to find out the model of the built in Bluetooth card for FZ21Z, I noticed a Bluetooth power setting. Within the properties of the Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Module under the Power Management tab I found a setting that states "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." I unchecked it and the sound is gone. Basically, I had it backwards. The mouse was not going into power saver mode. Instead, the Bluetooth card was.

    Thanks again.

I just want to point out, that the other OPTION is that your mouse is not been turn off, but the BLUETOOTH device.

I have a Mac with BootCamp and my AppleBluetooth device was been turn off.

Hope this helps someone...i spend a lot of time fixing it :S
