Cloned my ssd to my partitioned external now cant see the partition

Hi guys, I just cloned my ssd to my external hdd for work. On my external is an 80 gb partition that holds the clone of the ssd, the remainder of the space is a partition called G: When I boot from my ssd I can't access either partition on the external drive, although windows sees both partitions in the disk manager and says that it is in conflict with the data on my ssd. When I boot from the external I am unable to see let alone access the G: partition. I am aiming to be able to access the G: partition both from my ssd and from the ssd clone partition. Just a side note, when I plug the external into my netbook, everything is fine and I can both see and access both partitions. It is probably something astoundingly simple I am missing here, hope someone can help.

    Thanks!

    Hiyya yamanash and welcome mate.

I don't know what exactly is going on but you could try the Partition Wizard it may show up what is going on with your drives as in which are partitioned, what is formatted, data on etc

Now did you format the external before yo clone the original drive. I know I always do this with either DISKPART or the Wizard but thats just me being a bit pedantic but at least I am sure that the drive is ready to go and I can get rid of the software hat comes with them as again me I like the drive completely clean of everything.

Partition Manager Server, server partition manager and partition magic server for Windows Server 2000/2003/2008. Server Partition software for Windows Server and None-Server partitions

Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command < be aware that clean all can take some time dependingon disk size

Thanks for the reply ICit2lol. I am really not sure what the problem was... I reformatted and cloned again and now it is functioning as expected. In fact I am writing to you now having booted from the external and the other partition for storage is visible and accessible.

Probably just a glitch then yamanash at least it's fixed - good stuff mate.

Still worth getting that Partition Wizard for future use mate as it has many functions I find it so useful
