    scanning documents to email 6500A

I am really frustrated so far. I have been on a Mac system forever and decided to get the all- in-one Omni 100 PC. It has been one headache after another but I'm not giving up.
I bought the HP Officejet 6500A printer/scanner/Fax machine. I downloaded it and am trying to scan documents for email. I save/send them as pdf files. I have got everything working-BUT when you try to open the document it gives an error " the selected document can not be opened."

Any help woud be greatly appreciated

Anyone? I'm really trying everything I know how. and that's not much.
I need to print a document and sign it. Then scan and email.
I have widows 7 that came with the brand new all in one computer.
I got this new all in one 6500 printer/scanner/fax and another laserjet printer.
    The whole thing is HP.
    The 6500 is the default

Not sure what the problem is, because the PDF that you linked open fine here, other than being somewhat fuzzy.

hey there make sure you have the latest version of adobe reader installed...in fact best check you have it at all.

    Adobe - Downloads

try there and ensure you have it installed.

it opens fine so it must be a simple software issue.

you can change the settings to save the scanned image as something else but i've not done it with your particular model.

    Hiya :)

Soz your having such a hard time .... but it seems that your trying to scan a copy of this document http://www.freshfromflorida.com/onestop/forms/13645.pdf with all the details filled in

What you have is just 1 big jpeg image (bitmap) embedded inside a PDF file. If you are in a hurry and need to get this document sent off then maybe just scan it as a normal jpeg image (up the dpi a bit to make it not so blurry --- no to much) print it out then sign it / rescan it etc. and send it off whilst we try to figure out how we can fix the problem

I am having the same type problem. HP 5500 all in one. I cannot emial. I did find how to change email to Yahoo through Options>open application and find send to. Select from arrow down window on right. I found yahoo and google choices. Can add more.

However my HP fax and scan to emial is asking for a server setting. I do not know what it is for yahoo. My machine is ancient. Any clues from anyone?
