I finally got around to reassembling the computer with the new CPU. Had a little trouble figuring out how to upgrade the BIOS. (Had to have the driver as the root) Couldn't get Windows to boot so wound up reformatting and new install. Now I just have to get all of my programs, and data back on. (I do have backup).

The one that you recommended. Strange though, Windows recognizes the chip but the MSI Control Center does not. It just shows everything blank?
Excellent choice and my rig is almost identical to yours and mine runs crazy good. Have you downloaded and installed and run the MSI "Live Update 5" software? I would highly recommend it.

Will do so. I've been reinstalling things.
I did run Live Update 5 but it runs really slow. A single driver was taking 30 40 minutes, and then just stopped. Called MSI, and they said to just download the drivers from their website. Other than that, seems that all is ok.
Perfect, odd my Live Update always works quick except the GPU drivers as they are huge files !
I see that Microsoft has a patch for Windows 7 with the AMD FX processors. Did you install this?
I'm up to date on things but I haven't checked patches lately maybe you can forward a link and I'll check it out.
