But for someone who is going to
... use my computer for a bit of gaming and Graphic design.
I do not see the need for focusing on a gaming mouse so much as a functional mouse.

Granted the gaming mice can be set up to have some of the advanced functions of the regular mice - but where are you going to get a auto-changing hyper scroll, integrated search, even a thumb wheel pre-set for Tab-Flip?

TBH, it is the same reason I am not buying a gaming mouse myself - I am more productive than I am a gamer on this machine.

Well although I think logitech is great and do own an MX Revolution I use my Razer Mamba for games and it is brilliant
the Razer Mamba mouse looks very cool, and +1 for the usability with and without the cable plugged in.
Though, a bit steep in prize and though i have been drooling a bit on the Logitech MX revolution.

Concerning the Logitech G5, I've tried it before with my nephew and found it really nice, with the weights and
the reaction time. but i'm looking for a cordless mouse for my desktop.

Though, still time to change my mind yet. I'm real happy with the feedback i've had so far on this post, since im looking at
throwing a bit of money at this new device im welcoming more hints and tips. thankyou all.

    Well, another tip.

Make sure you chose a energy efficient or rechargeable model, because a wireless mouse can easily become a pain in the *ss, when you have to change batteries every two weeks.

    Welcome to www.A4Tech.com::Product

Drivers for Vista from a4tech homepage works great at Win7. I saw 2 versions: optical and laser.

I'm going for a Usb driven wireless mouse.
Anyone want to suggest some super great devices?

    edit:
I use my computer for a bit of gaming and Graphic design.
As far as I'm concerned there is only one manufacturer.

    Logitech.

All the others are cr*p, but that is my personal opinion, not a rule.

    Which model is very personal.
I recommend going to a shop that has them all on display for you to try.
After you made a choice, go home and find it cheaper on the net,
    Indeed.
Logitech is the way to go

I agree with the others, Logitech is the way to go and the G7 is one great mouse. No one is taking away my MX518 though, I love this thing. I even have a brand new one in the closet for when it dies -knock on wood:)
