    please help with ram


    hello everybody
    i have dell inspiron n5110 . core i7 , ram 8 gb .. and windows 7 ultimate sp1 32-bit
    the usable ram is just 3 gb how can i use 8 gb ? plz help !

    Hi,

    Windows 7 32-bit can only use ~3GB RAM, to have access to the rest you need to install Windows 7 64-bit. You cannot upgrade from 32 to 64-bit, you must perform a clean install for that.

    well i downloaded Win7 home premium Sp1 64 bit .. is it a good one or bad one ?

    Sounds like you downloaded the wrong file by mistake or the service had them mis-marked. You definitely want the 64 bit version without hesitation !

    My understanding is your computer came with 64 bit Windows Home Premium.

    yeah thats true but the shop i bought the pc from had formatted it before he sell it to costumers .... to put the name of the shop on the pc !
