Need new Hard Drive, choices, choices...
Hi there. I recently have had hard drive failure, and I am in need of an upgrade.
However, I'm not sure what I should get...
I have been referred to this site:
Best High-End Gaming PC | Hardware Revolution
Best Mainstream Gaming PC | Hardware Revolution
I think I have narrowed it down in my amateur opinion to:
Amazon.com: Samsung Desktop Class Spinpoint F3 1 TB SATA 3.0 Gb-s 32 MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Bare-OEM Drives, HD103SJ: Electronics
or
Amazon.com: Western Digital 1 TB WD Blue SATA III 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Desktop Hard Drive: Computers & Accessories
According to that website, the Spinpoint is very reliable, and the SATA 6.0 is mostly useless. I've read elsewhere that a 32mb cache vs. a 64mb cache will not make a difference either. Secondly, I have heard that WD has horrible support, and that is exactly what I'm switching from. Also, I really only need 500GB, but the 1TB is about the same price, or cheaper. SSD is too expensive for me right now, and I'd like to keep it less that 100$.
Is there another hard drive I should be looking at?
If not, which one should I get?
