Okay, so if it isn't permissions blocking you, then it must be a program on the drive. When you try and browse the drive using

command prompt

what happens?

you mean explore?If you meant explore or open,the same error appears saying
"I:/is not accessible

access is denied.

No, I mean if you go into command prompt and try and access that drive does it not allow you? Or can you go into CMD and get a directory listing?

Command Prompt <-- Option 2

The above information will tell you how to get into command prompt. Now that you have performed opton 2, you should see the driver letter and a black box. Now type dir. That should now print the contents of the drive or nothing depending on how things go.

Thats because you are still looking at the wrong drive. When in that window where you did the dir and got the above results. Instead of typing dir type the drive letter first of your external.

So, maybe I: , hit enter, which it should then select your external drive(assuming it is labled I) then type dir.
