    hard drive corruption issues

hey folks im new to this forum so go easy on me!

i built my first pc about 5 months ago because my laptop of 4 years goosed on me while ordering dominos pizza (dammit!!) - iv done a good job everything works swimmingly except i salvaged the hard drive from the laptop and hooked it up to my new pc. (just so i could store media so as not to clog up my new hard drive) i formatted the old hard drive because it had a version of windows xp on it. but i think it's facked haha. everytime i format it i can use it till i shut down then when i restart i get hassled by chkdsk whether i let it run or not i get a corrupt hard drive when i restart. Now it wont format, i tried deleting it and re volume-ing it via disk management but that only works till shut down...

any ideas? iv got it hooked up via 6gb cable/port on the mobo, altho its only a 3gb hdd could that be an issue?

I just hope you finally got that pizza man, that really hurts. Otherwise we must all mourn for the pizza that could have been.

Anyhow, as for your current problem.
Do you have any optional updates currently in windows update?
Now would be a good excuse to apply those.
Is this a pc you built or something with a make/model on it?

Unfortunately site rules don't allow us to assist anyone with a pirated copy of windows.
