    CoolerMaster Storm Scout

Do any of you have this case, or have any first person feedback about one? I'm moving my PC from a basement to a new home office, and I feel like I need a case with some better air-flow and cooling. I read some reviews that seem positive, but I figured I'd toss the question up on here too.

i looked at the larger version of that case before i built my rig and it's supposed to have all the features in a smaller size. cm has a reputation for making great cases. assuming all of your hardware will fit inside with ample room for cooling then it'd probably make a great case.

I love CoolerMaster cases. In fact, I have four Centurion 5 cases at home that are the cheapest, yet easiest cases to work with.

buy the CM590 (i have this case)

the stormscout has a split rack which is a right pig in regards to cooling, & i was helping someone select a GPU the other day he has this case & he opted for a 4850x2....it was only on close inspection of the dimensions i noticed an 11''+ card WILL NOT FIT!!, how dare they name it a ''gaming'' case when it wont take ALL GFX solutions.., the CM690 is also a split rack layout....

have a look at its layout compared to the CM590..

    stormscout

as you can see the HDD rack is actually turned to face the front of the case to aid HDD removal (at the expense of cooling)

    now look at the CM590

as you can see this case has a ''universal'' rack, allowing me to place HDDs wherever i like, it also allows me to keep the airflow clear at the front / bottom of the case...

    great case IMO.....

The storm scout is a great case. I almost got it. I ended up getting this one. $100. I'm happy with it.

This is the one I have at the moment, I can't fault it.

    My Case

I've found it to be a roomy, well cooled case, and is pretty easy to add and remove hardware to/from. It's kind of a hoss to carry around when fully loaded, though. =P

I think I've had or do have most of those cases already. The 590 reminds me a lot of the several Centurion 5 cases I have already, that do an adequate job in a cool area. The 690 I had for a while was nice, but it was much larger than anything I need. I originally got that one for a server case, but then sold it when I decided to just use WHS on an older box.

Had my CM Storm Scout for a while now and have to say it's an amazing case in every respect. looks and build quality are both excellent. imo the Scout looks way better than both the HAF cases and certainly has a one-up on the both of them with it's all-black factory finish painted interior. Another great feature is the top mounted front panel inputs, 4xUSB, e-sata, audio-out and mic, plus a switch to turn off/on the red LED's of the internal fans.

The above poster reminded me that I never posted an update. I did buy the Storm Scout, and I am very happy with it. The quality is excellent, and it has plenty of space to house my hardware and route the cables neatly and out of sight. I'd only consider parting with it if I upgraded the Corsair 800D, but that costs as much as three, maybe four of these cases.
