I have a Question about GHz

If I've posted in the wrong area.. please let me know , we can move it.

My question is about the size of what runs a desktop Pc..
I want one with a big , fast system that can take a load of music, photos, videos and run fast with easy , along with tons of storage which I think would be lots of GB storage.

.Which is larger ? GHz size, would larger numbers, mean bigger and stronger ?
    •2.5GHz Intel Pentium G645T dual-core processor
so I can make a better decision when I buy.
I do not know about this part.

I've read a lot and looked at a lot of desktop pc's, some with larger GHz and some with much smaller GHz.
I'll keep this pc a long time , so I want to be able to add extra ram as well.
    Thanks for any replies.

GHz in this case refers to the speed of the processor. The larger the number the faster it runs.
    What is GHz?

For storage you want a high GB # (ex: 500GB). The processor speed is ALWAYS in GHz, the higher the number the better.

You also want a computer with a high RAM. This will be the smaller GB number on a computer listing (ex: 4GB, 6GB, 8GB, 12GB, etc)

The attached pictures show what I'm talking about

Alpha hi ... Thanks for your reply..and link.
I've read all about the GHz.. I now understand this better.
I almost knew when I saw a New Windows 8 desktop with 1.7 GHz, that would not be as fast as a higher number on the GHz. even when less costly.. I prefer a faster pc. and pay more, I do not want to see my videos or movies spin when trying to play.. it just ruins what one is watching, now with the HD videos one needs more speed.
    Thanks so much again.:)

Do you plan on having the computer hooked up to your tv?

If so you would want to go with a desktop not an all-in-one. It will look better and be a little easier to place and set up.

Here's a good desktop for you: ASUS CM1831-US-2AA

don't be fooled by higher GHz,it doesn't always mean faster .the i7 1.7 will be faster than the 2.4 d intel duel core ,because of the i7 newer technoligy ,the i7 is a quad core cpu, thus it would be faster than a higher GHZ duel core cpu

    Hi LPt,

I'm not sure if this would interest you, but the last computer I bought was from Cyber Power. They have base packages which you can then configure to your liking. When I put together my build, I pretty much changed every piece of hardware that came with the base package for something I liked better. They offer almost every major brand of hardware, which is different then the computers I've ordered from Dell in the past. If I remember correctly they built my PC and shipped it to me within 5 business day. I have been very happy with it so far.
