Windows drive icons and properties seems to be corrupt.

    Windows drive icons and properties seems to be corrupt.


    I have attached two images.My CD drive is detected as a removable disk but in properties,it is a normal cd drive.

    Hello Hem,

    What brand, model #, and type of CD drive is it?

    What does it show as in Device Manager?

    What you are seeing is normal when a CD drive is empty.

    Thanks,but I found the solution.It was just because the service shell hardware detection was not running.To solve this,you just need to click start>All programs>Accessories>System tools then right click on command prompt and click rus as administrator.When the UAC appear,click yes.Then type 'net start shellhwdetection'.
