What do you mean 6 GB of ram is your "Average". You have a certain number. Your car doesn't have an "Average of 4 tires". That is what it has. Are you talking about Usable RAM? That can vary. == Where did you check? Try this, Click on your Start buttom and right click on "Computer" and left click on "Properties". This will bring up how much ram you have. See what that says and get back to us.
Dear jean3799,
Download speccy and post a thumbnail of what it shows under RAM. Download site:Speccy - Download. Let's proceed from there! Best wishes.

As a side note, if you have 6 GB of RAM in your computer, you shouldn't be worrying about or messing with ReadyBoost anyway. It won't be of any help to you.
ReadyBoost is gilts and glamor, it doesn't really help performance with RAM. From my understanding it helps more with indexing and searching files...
It was meant as a cache for systems that have less than 1 GB of memory...so the cache that would spill over onto the hard drive could instead be put on a USB flash drive for faster response times.
Once you go over 1 GB of memory, your system doesn't really show a benefit. As you climb higher in memory, the caching becomes less and less, rendering ReadyBoost useless.
It would be nice if the System Specs were filled out completely. This will help us help you.
Ready Boost is B/S.
Remove your Ready Boost.
Start/Search and type resomn it will show how much ram you have and what it is doing.
